Academics

Class Size St. Margaret Mary provides full time instructional assistants in grades K-3. We have 4 Kindergarten classes and three of each in grades one through eight’ Kindergarten classes currently have a cap of 21 students. The cap size in grades 1-8 is 28 students.

Curriculum St. Margaret Mary School follows the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Louisville. Students are offered opportunities in the following major subjects: Language Arts, Mathematics, Religion, Science and Social Studies.

Special Area Classes Academic learning is augmented by our Special Area classes in the areas of: Art, Computer Literacy, Drama, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish. Students begin receiving all subjects in Kindergarten. Physical Education, Music, Art and Drama sometimes contain a performance component that is reflective of class learning.

Terra Nova Testing Students are given the Terra Nova test in grades 3-7 in the Spring of each year. St. Margaret Mary students consistently perform above the archdiocesan average in all academic areas.
