St. Margaret Mary Athletics
2007-2008 Spring and Summer Sports Information

We have expanded the dates and times the St. Margaret Mary Athletic Association is offering this year for Sports sign-ups in an attempt to accommodate as many parishioners and RCIA and PREP students as possible.

Sign up dates will be as follows: Feb. 5, 5:30-7:30 in the gym; Feb. 7, 5:30-7:30 in the gym; Feb. 13, carpool til 4:30; Feb. 20, Carpool til 4:30.

NOTE : THE CUTOFF DATE FOR SIGN-UPS IS FEBRUARY 22, 2008. After this date, a late fee will be charged. This action is deemed necessary due to the expanding school size and number of teams. The coaches need to be lined up ahead of time, tryout formats determined, uniform needs assessed, gym time limitations and other managerial duties which must be handled to begin each sport.

Spring and Summer sports include [** dates in parentheses are start dates for that sport]:

Girls Softball(3/1/08), Soccer (k-2 and 3-8 CSAA competitive for both girls and boys- 3/1/08), Track(3/1/08), Tennis(tournaments), Golf (CSAA tournament 7/8 Grade, June 5 and Grades 5/6, June 6th), Field Hockey(5/1/08) and Baseball(5/1/08) [if appropriate interest is shown].

Practices for most of these sports begin March 1, 2008. For Kindergarten, First and Second Graders, the only sports available, other than swimming and Basketball clinic, are Soccer and Track.

St Margaret Mary still needs someone willing to coordinate the Track Team(s). If any one is interested in accepting this responsibility or sharing this job, please contact either Amy Smith or Cres Bride. For information of the details of this job, please contact Maryellen Allen. We will have two fees for track this year since last year’s Fun Meet posed so many difficulties due to weather and practice times in years past.
