Cantors play a significant role in liturgies at St. Margaret Mary. This individual leads the sung prayer of the liturgical assembly. If you are interested in being a cantor you need to have a clear and pleasant singing voice, to study the psalms, and to practice and prepare the psalm of the day and the other liturgical songs prior to the liturgy. Periodic training sessions are required, as is cantor certification. The time commitment involved in this ministry varies per liturgy assignments.
