A lector proclaims the Word of God that is read during the liturgy of the Word. Lectors study the scripture readings prior to the liturgy to which they are assigned, have a clear and pleasant speaking voice, and attend at least one Lector Training Session offered through the parish. Attendance in the Lector Certification Program, offered through the Archdiocese of Louisville, is encouraged.
