A message from the Children’s Formation Coordinator

At SMM we are dedicated to engaging children in their faith from the time they are tiny toddlers, and we are committed to nurturing their love of Christ as they grow and mature in their faith. Too often, a child’s faith formation is overlooked until the child begins to approach preparation for a sacrament—baptism, confirmation, or first Eucharist. Christian formation, however, begins at a young age. Children are naturally curious about questions related to our faith: Where do I come from? What am I here for? What happens when I die? They are eager to know their Creator and discover that they were created to love and be loved by God!

At SMM our Children’s Formation ministries aim to nurture those innate longings instilled in children. As children develop physically, mentally, and emotionally, so too do they need to grow spiritually. We make every effort to meet the formation needs of our parish children. We actively partner with parents and catechists looking to provide meaningful formation opportunities within our parish community. In our ministries, we strive to creatively engage our children and awaken their hearts and minds to Gospel values.
