Parish Organization
PARISH COUNCIL
The purpose of the Parish Council
is to establish policies and set broad goals and objectives. It shall
-
serve
as a structure for constructive dialogue among the priests, staff, and laity
of the parish, to effect cooperation as a Christian community.
-
cooperate with and carry out, to the best of its abilities, the guidelines
and directives issued by the Archbishop of Louisville and the Pastoral
Council of the Archdiocese.
-
be the official
decision-making body of the parish, and all decisions will be considered
official upon ratification by the pastor.
-
act as
the coordinating body for all organizations and group activities within the
parish.
-
survey continually the needs both spiritual and temporal of
the parish, community, and the Archdiocese.
-
develop and direct
implementation of programs directed at fulfilling those needs.
-
set priorities to establish goals and objectives to meet those
needs.
-
be an extension of the
Pastor, Community Director, and assigned staff and exercise authority under the
jurisdiction of the Pastor.

furnish guidance,
information, and explanation of its work and progress to parishioners at all
times.
Time Commitment: Parish Council meets the third Tuesday of
every month. A term on the Parish Council is for three years.

WORSHIP COORDINATING COMMITTEE
This committee deals with all
aspects of worship for the St. Margaret Mary Community. The goal of the
Worship Committee is to foster meaningful liturgies which will encourage
full, conscious, and active participation from the assembly. This committee
invites forth anyone who feels called to work more closely with liturgy.

FORMATION COORDINATING COMMITTEE
Formation is a multifaceted
ministry, which promotes educational and spiritual growth in the parish
community. This committee is composed of chairpersons from the various
Formation subcommittees of the parish. Time Commitment:
committee meets four to five times per year.

SERVICE COORDINATING COMMITTEE
The Service Committee coordinates
the Outreach and Parish Life programs of the parish. The ministries in this
special area deal with service and social concerns and serve as a liaison
between parish organizations and the needs of the community-at-large.

ADMINISTRATION COORDINATING
COMMITTEE
This branch of the parish
organization structure carries out the responsibility for the day-to-day
operations and long-range planning of the parish. The goal of the
Administration Committee is to insure the security of the church and school
through proper attention to resources, finances, and planning for the
future. Taking part in Administration gives parishioners the opportunity to
protect their ownership interest in the parish by maintaining and preserving
its resources and managing them well. Chairperson: Charlie Hurst
SCHOOL BOARD
While an elected position, all
members of the parish are welcome to run for the board. School Board members
help set policy for our school and assist the administration as needed.

ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION BOARD
This energetic organization of
men and women makes it possible for every child of our parish family to
participate in any or all of the Catholic School Athletic Association
sponsored sports. The ultimate goal of all of our sports programs is to
teach good Christian sportsmanship and teamwork.

PTO BOARD
This committee provides a
positive communication system between parents and teachers. Areas of service
within the Parent Teacher Organization include fund-raising and providing a
volunteer system to help our school run more efficiently. President:
